This recipe is too good and too easy to make. It’s a gift and a curse!

    Is that overdramatic?

    Maybe just a bit.

But this is some seriously good fudge! Seriously so easy to make! And seriously too easy to gobble up! Annnd you need serious self control to make this recipe and not eat it all in one sitting.

But enough seriouses. This recipe is a must try!

While I do think making chocolate fudge the traditional way is plenty simple, this just makes the whole process a lot more approachable and quick!

2 ingredient chocolate fudge sweetened condensed milk and chocolate in saucepan

    Chocolate fudge ingredients:

To make this simplified chocolate fudge, you will need:

    • sweetened condensed milk
    • chocolate: any type you like (I typically go with semi-sweet)

Because this recipe only features two ingredients, I really recommend using high quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture!

Whichever type you choose, make sure it’s chocolate made specifically for melting! Regular chocolate chips can sometimes end up grainy when melted.

    How to make chocolate fudge:

    1. Line a square dish with parchment paper and lightly grease. Set aside.
    2. Combine chocolate and condensed milk in a saucepan. Heat over low until melted. * Note: don’t try to speed this up by increasing the heat! Low heat is important to make sure the chocolate doesn’t burn or seize! It shouldn’t take too long either way.
    3. Pour into square dish. Spread into an even layer and chill until set.

    Slice and serve!

    Chocolate fudge storage:

Chocolate fudge is a keeper. Because it’s delicious and because it keeps fresh for daaaaaayyyysss! You can store it at room temperature, in the fridge, or even freeze it.

Whichever storage you choose, keep your fudge in an airtight container (make sure it’s freezer safe if you do want to freeze it). If you plan on stacking your fudge in the container, separate each layer with a sheet of parchment paper to keep them from sticking.

At room temperature, fudge will keep for 1 to 2 weeks. Fudge will keep for about 2 to 3 weeks if stored in the fridge. And if you freeze your fudge, it’ll keep for around 2 to 3 months!

    Chocolate fudge variations:

You can use this same recipe with any type of chocolate you like! The amounts remain the same whether you choose to make this into white chocolate fudge, milk chocolate fudge, semi-sweet chocolate fudge, or dark chocolate fudge!

If making white or milk chocolate fudge, make sure you’re extra careful with the temperature of your stove burner! White and milk chocolate tend to seize and burn more easily than semi-sweet and dark chocolate.

    Prep Time: 5 minutes
    Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
    Servings: 16 slices

    Ingredients

    • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
    • 12 ounces chocolate, (about 2 cups) chopped * see notes

    Instructions

    • Line the bottom and sides of a 9×9 square dish with parchment paper. Lightly grease the parchment paper to make sure your fudge doesn't stick, and set aside.
    • In a medium sized saucepan, combine chocolate and condensed milk. Place over a stove burner set to low heat. Warm, stirring constantly, until the chocolate has melted and you're left with a smooth mixture.
    • Pour the fudge into your parchment lined and greased dish. Smoothen and spread the fudge into an even layer in your dish. Chill for about 1 hour in the fridge, or until set. Slice and serve!

    Notes

    * You can use any type of chocolate you like here (white, milk, semi-sweet, or dark). I typically go with semi-sweet!
Since there are only TWO ingredients in this recipe, make sure to choose good quality chocolate for the best flavor! Whichever you decide to go with, make sure it’s made for melting! It should be labeled as “Baker’s” or “couverture” chocolate. Regular chocolate chips don’t melt as smoothly.
