I honestly don’t even remember the last time I actually bought pumpkin pie spice. This is the only recipe I’ve ever used, and this is the only recipe I’ll ever need!

    pumpkin pie spice ingredients

    Pumpkin pie spice ingredients:

Pumpkin spice gets its beautiful flavor from 5 different spices:

    • ground cinnamon
    • ground ginger
    • ground nutmeg
    • ground cloves
    • ground allspice

The great part about making your own spice at home is that you can tweak the ratios for each spice to suit your taste! The ratios listed below will give you a near identical flavor to store-bought pumpkin spice – so feel free to play around with the amounts if you like. It’s kind of hard to go wrong with these 5 spices!

How to make pumpkin pie spice:

Okay, you’re gonna want to take some notes for this recipe. Are you ready?

    1. Whisk spices together.
    2. That’s it.

    Pumpkin pie spice uses:

Pumpkin spice is one of those things that I could add to basically anything, and would not complain. You can use this to make pumpkin cake, pumpkin spice coffee or other drinks, pumpkin spiced frosting, spiced cupcakes, spiced muffins, and (of course) PUMPKIN PIE! There are so many different uses for pumpkin spice, and it’s one of the easiest way to add a kick of fall flavor to any recipe!

    Pumpkin pie spice storage:

Spices never really expire. They just eventually lose their flavor. So depending on how fresh the spices that go into this recipe are, this pumpkin pie spice should keep for about 2 to 3 YEARS! A good tell for if your spice is no good is smell: it should have a strong, spicy aroma.
