Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 & 1/2 cups (approx.)

  • 3 cups peanuts, dry roasted * see notes

  • Pour your shelled, roasted peanuts into the bowl of a large food processor. Process until smooth and creamy. Pause every 30 seconds or so to prevent the food processor from overheating. Give it about a 10 second break, and continue processing in 30 second intervals. Pause as necessary to scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl.

* You can buy pre-roasted peanuts from the store, or roast your own at home. The longer you roast your peanuts, the more rich the roasted flavor will be and the darker your peanut butter.
To roast your own peanuts at home, preheat your oven to 350°F. Scatter shelled peanuts onto a large baking sheet, making sure they're in one layer, without any overlap. Roast for 5 to 10 minutes in your oven, or until fragrant and lightly browned (to your liking). Transfer the roasted peanuts to a separate heat safe bowl after they're done because they can continue to cook if left on the hot baking sheet. Cool completely to room temperature before using.
