In a small pot, pour 1/2 a cup of your water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiled, pour into a heat safe bowl or cup, and whisk in the coffee and sugar until fully dissolved.
Pour in the remaining 3/4 cup of cold water to cool down the coffee mixture. It should be cooled to room temperature after the addition of the cold water, but if not, set aside to cool completely or chill until ready to use.
In a tall glass, combine ice, cooled coffee, and cream. Serve immediately!
